Types of Involvement at Texas A&M: The Aggie Experience Is Not One-Size-Fits-All

Life in college starts with decisions about your academic future, but beyond that, it includes so much more. It’s a time in life where you learn to become independent, discover who you are and what you want to do, build lifelong connections and create memories that will last forever. At Texas A&M University, the Division of Student Affairs is here to support you on that journey by connecting you to countless opportunities that will help you create your own unique Aggie experience.
Whether you're passionate about leadership, community service, the arts or sports, there's a place for you in the Aggie family. It’s not one-size-fits-all, either. There are many ways you can find your fit and create your own unique path.
Don’t let the options overwhelm you, let them inspire you. Check out these nine ways you can get involved in Aggieland and explore one or as many as you can fit in your schedule. Either way, you’re sure to meet new people, expand your horizons and find something you love to do.
1. Student Organizations and Clubs: Find Your Fit
With more than 1,300 student organizations at Texas A&M, you'll find communities that match every interest imaginable. From academic honor societies and professional organizations to hobby clubs and cultural groups, these organizations are where lasting friendships are born and professional networks begin. Whether you're obsessed with robotics, debate, photography or anime, there's a group of Aggies with similar interests waiting to welcome you.

Greek life at Texas A&M offers a unique blend of social connection, academic support, and philanthropic engagement. With dozens of fraternities and sororities to choose from, you'll find communities that emphasize leadership development, scholarship and service. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just looking to stay active, Rec Sports’ Sport Clubs, Intramural Sports and Outdoor Adventures offer something for everyone. From competitive traveling club teams to recreational intramural leagues where you can play with friends and outdoor adventures where you can try new things, these programs promote wellness, teamwork and school spirit.

Student government provides a platform for you to advocate for your fellow Aggies and make a real difference on campus. Through various elected positions and committee opportunities, you can help shape university policies, plan major events and ensure that student voices are heard at the highest levels of university administration, the Texas legislature and in Washington D.C.
6. Leadership Development: Building Tomorrow's Leaders
Texas A&M is committed to developing the next generation of leaders both inside and outside of the classroom. From workshops and seminars to mentorship opportunities and leadership retreats, these programs help you discover your leadership style, develop essential skills and prepare for success in your career and community.
Develop your leadership skills through the Level-Up to Lead Initiative in the Department of Multicultural Services. Or find a student organization focused on leadership, and connect with Student Organization Leadership and Development (SOLAD) in the Department of Student Activities for student organization leadership training and support. If you have served or are serving in the military, you can get involved with other student leaders in VALOR2 in the Veterans Resource and Support Center.
7. Musical Ensembles & the Arts: Follow Your Passion
Music brings people together in powerful ways, and Texas A&M's musical ensembles through the Department of Music Activities offer opportunities for musicians of all skill levels.
