Tracey Forman Honored with Disability Resource Professionals Award
The Dot Mishoe Spirit Award honors those with outstanding commitment to their profession.

Tracey Forman, associate director in the Department of Disability Resources, was one of two recipients honored with the Dot Mishoe Spirit Award by the DocsWithDisablilties Initiative. The award recognizes and honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership and contribution to disability resources in health professions education.
Forman has been working in Disability Resources since 2007, where she started as an assistive technology specialist. She currently serves as an associate director for the department supervising department operations. Her pivotal role as an Access Coordinator for students within the Health Science Center underscores her commitment to ensuring inclusivity and accessibility within health sciences education for students with disabilities. She also serves on the department leadership team and participates in a variety of campus committees and liaison roles.
“Tracey is very intentional and detailed in her work with students,” said Director of Disability Resources Dr. Kristie Orr. “She is pushing the boundaries of accessibility for disabled students in medicine, nursing, pharmacy and dentistry, and making health sciences careers available to students who previously would have been excluded.”
To qualify for the Dot Mishoe Spirit Award, nominees must demonstrate a minimum of three years of service, coupled with a fervent passion for their work, innovative thinking and a willingness to mentor fellow professionals in the disability resources realm. Forman's embodiment of these criteria underscores her well-deserved recognition within the field.
