YELL LEADER OPERATIONS
GOAL: $1.4 MILLION
Your gifts to the General Operations Endowed Fund would cover the cost of travel, accommodations, uniforms, haircuts and other operating expenses.
The Yell Leaders travel to all regular-season away games and bowl games for the Texas A&M football team. They attend away championship games for the men’s and women’s basketball teams, including SEC and NCAA tournaments.
Each year, they also travel to Coach’s Nights in major Texas cities, Texas A&M Mothers Club events, Fish Camp and T-Camp. Often they are invited to attend other events around the state and nation, including during school holidays and summer months when they must pay rent for apartments in Bryan-College Station.
Travel expenses may include van rental, gasoline, airfare, public transportation, hotel accommodations, food and other incidentals associated with travel. If fully funded, this endowment may provide a bus for travel and housing during holidays and summer breaks.
The starched, white uniforms and individualized overalls of the Yell Leaders are a significant and visible part of this time-honored tradition. The cost of these uniforms and their maintenance would be covered under this endowment, along with weekly haircuts for each Yell Leader.
“These are the things that make the Yell program what it is. Without these, the Yell Leaders would not be able to adequately and appropriately fulfill their role as ambassadors to Texas A&M University. This endowment will enable each Yell Leader to prioritize their studies and fulfill their duties.”
