COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A cheering crowd gathered at the 12th Man Statue on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, as the results of Texas A&M's 2025-26 student body elections were announced by election commissioner Rachna Edalur. Carter Mallory, a biomedical sciences major from Decatur, Texas, was elected student body president alongside his running mate, Kathleen Parks, a communications major from Magnolia, Texas.

"This is so surreal," Parks said. "We have an awesome team who’s worked so hard for many months, and it’s amazing to see that effort come to fruition."

A total of 12,172 ballots were cast in the election, with Mallory and Parks receiving just over 51% of the vote. Their campaign focused on affordability, traditions and student involvement.

"Something I would love to see is a greater focus on selfless service," Mallory said. "It’s something we have done well before and have the opportunity to see to a greater extent today."

In addition to the presidential and vice-presidential results, Texas A&M students also elected five new Yell Leaders:

Senior Yell Leaders: Luke Widener ’25, Kyler Fife ’25, and Heath Flanagan ’25.
Junior Yell Leaders: Luke Rollins ’26 and Josh Brewton ’26.

Election results were also announced for class agents, class presidents, Residential Housing Association (RHA) president, senators, and Honors Student Council offices.

“I’m just ridiculously grateful for this opportunity,” Mallory said.

Election results remain unofficial until certified by the Chief Justice of the Judicial Court. For finalized results and additional details, visit vote.tamu.edu.
