
Dr. Harrell, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Senior System Student Affairs Officer, provides administrative support for the Department of Multicultural Services, the Don & Ellie Knauss Veteran Resource and Support Center, and the Department of Music Activities. She serves as the chairperson for the University Disciplinary Appeals Panel, the Student Rules and Regulations Committee, and has responsibilities relating to risk management and compliance for the Division of Student Affairs. In addition, Dr. Harrell works with branch and off-site campuses of Texas A&M University. Twenty-five percent of her time is allocated to supporting Student Affairs functions at the 11 Texas A&M University System campuses and RELLIS.
Dr. Harrell has over 20 years of experience in higher education and student affairs. She came to Texas A&M in 2006 and has held positions in Student Conduct Services, the Offices of the Dean of Student Life and has managed Alcohol and Drug Education Programs where she trained, consulted, and liaised with staff. Dr. Harrell’s experience includes interpersonal violence prevention, residence life, and crisis response. In 2021 she joined the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs as Assistant Vice President and Senior System Student Affairs Officer. Dr. Harrell serves as an adjunct faculty member within the Texas A&M University System teaching Higher Education Law. Dr. Harrell has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Washington, Seattle, a Master of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, College Station.
