Research proves that the arts raise academic achievement because they teach critical thinking, analytical reasoning, effective communication, and collaborative work. These competencies pave the way to student success in college, in the workplace, and in life. Your gifts provide enrichment opportunities through special exhibits and first-rate performances, educational workshops and programs, international excursions, and care for Texas A&M’s art collections.

MSC OPAS presents professional productions of theater, music and dance programs that enlighten, entertain and inspire audiences. For four decades, OPAS has brought the finest of the performing arts from around the world to Texas A&M. It also has the distinction of being the only student-run performing arts organization in the country, providing opportunities for leadership development, community interaction and collaboration with others who have a passion for the arts.

NEED: A $5 million permanent endowment would underwrite high-quality productions and subsidize student ticket costs so performances remain within every Aggie’s reach. You may also donate online at

We provide gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Aggies and their straight supporters the knowledge and skills needed to change the world. Through innovative educational workshops, premier leadership opportunities and connections with a strong network of mentors, the center ensures that no Aggie feels forgotten.

NEED: A $1.5 million endowment would create a museum-academic partnership and underwrite a full-time academic curator. An additional $1 million endowment would support a more comprehensive print collection that would allow for smaller, customized exhibitions for a wide range of academic classes.

NEED: Ninety percent of Texas A&M students have never stepped foot inside an art museum. A $2.5 million endowment would fund one “blockbuster” traveling exhibition each year to engage students and the community.

The diverse and talented department serves more than 1,300 students each year and offers opportunities to participate in a wide variety of musical groups, including but not limited to the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band, Singing Cadets, orchestras, jazz ensembles, wind symphonies, and other band and choir groups of various sizes. These ensembles present about 200 worldwide performances annually.

NEED: The department’s goal is for one choral ensemble and one instrumental ensemble to have an international travel experience each year. These trips would enhance Texas A&M’s public relations and allow students to truly immerse in cultures outside of Texas and the U.S. We aspire to raise a $10 million endowment to provide student scholarships, offset travel costs, and rent larger instruments such as percussion equipment and string basses.
