LEADERSHIP EDUCATORS NETWORK

The Texas A&M Leadership Educators Network is open to faculty, administrators, and professional staff dedicated to the promotion of leadership development, education, and training of students at Texas A&M University.

The network convenes once per semester to share emerging developments and best practices, dialogue across curricular and co-curricular dimensions of leadership such as foundational leadership competencies, and collaborate on projects and events.

GOALS

  • Share leadership theories and models in use on the A&M campus.
  • Analyze leadership competencies of student leaders and employees.
  • Create collaborative relationships across campus educators that support leadership initiatives and programs.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN THE DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS

LEADERSHIP LEARNING

Training

Leadership training means opportunities for skill-based learning. These experiences usually take place in workshops, seminars and trainings.

Education

Leadership education means opportunities for learning that is informed by theory or research. These experiences usually take place in a more formal setting, such as an academic course.

Development

Leadership development means actively engaging in opportunities where skills can be practiced. These experiences are usually longer in term.
