The Division of Student Affairs offers extensive opportunities for you to get involved in areas that enhance your educational, cultural, and leadership understanding. Becoming involved in these opportunities is just a click away.
The Department of Greek Life strives to build an inclusive Greek community and enhance the collegiate experience by supporting opportunities for leadership, academic success, civic engagement and the creation of fraternal bonds. Greek Life serves as liaison among the collegiate chapters, parents, alumni, international organizations, and Texas A&M University to provide organizational guidance, educational programs, and resources while challenging members to live their fraternal values.
Texas A&M Living and Learning Communities(LLCs) are great places for any student to begin and continue his/her college career! These are floors, sections or entire residence halls where students request to live near others and share a particular interest in academics, social and cultural issues and activities. These LLCs help students create a strong link between their lives in the residence hall and learning experiences in the classroom; provide an environment that is conducive to building a strong, cohesive peer support system that will serve the students throughout their academic and professional careers. Students who reside in an LLC enjoy all the same amenities as other residents, yet benefit from a unique living experience.
The Texas A&M Sport Club Association provides the ability to be competitive against clubs from other collegiate institutions at the state, regional, or national level in 33 different sports. Most clubs also provide the opportunity for members to learn or enhance their skills in a recreational setting. Each club is administered by students, has practice times and facilities as well as receives some monetary support. To help subsidize the cost of travel and equipment, clubs may charge dues and participate in fundraising activities.
If you join an MSCC Student Programming Committee or Resource Area, you’ll get the chance to indulge your interests, but chances are you’ll get even more. Like lifelong friendships. And professional experience. And probably enough knowledge to fill a book or two.
The departments within the Division of Student Affairs nearly all advise and maintain the activities of student organizations. The Department of Student Activities serves as a hub for providing resources for the student organizations in our division. Student Activities creates and fosters leadership and involvement opportunities that enhance personal, interpersonal, and organizational development.
The Student Service Fee Advisory Board (SSFAB) is made up of nine students and one non-voting advisor. The Board meets several times during the latter half of the Spring semester and several more times in early Fall.
The nine Aggies serving on the Board play a very important role, making recommendations on behalf of all graduate and undergraduate students at Texas A&M. Their recommendations directly affect campus life and the futures of many departments and programs. If you would like to be a part of the process, please apply for Board membership. Applications are accepted and interviews conducted early each Spring. Our goal is to seat a diverse Board that effectively represents all the students we serve.
