About

The Student Affairs Development Office works with former students, corporations and other Texas A&M supporters to match their charitable interests with the Division of Student Affairs’ priorities. Your gifts create scholarships, enhance student programs and fund new buildings. Development Officers for the Texas A&M Foundation work with the Student Affairs Development Office to facilitate the gift giving process.

The Texas A&M Foundation is a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization that exists for the benefit of Texas A&M University. Gifts made to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Meet the Staff

MR. MATT JENNINGS

Senior Director of Development for the Corps of Cadets

Matt provides oversight for the Student Affairs and Corps of Cadets development office which supports the major gift fundraising goals of the Division of Student Affairs.  He joined the Division of Student Affairs development team in June 2015.

Matt began his career with the Texas A&M Foundation in 2004, serving as Director of Development for the College of Engineering and as Senior Director of Major Gifts for the western United States.  He also served as Assistant Campaign Director for the “Lead by Example” Campaign from 2012-2015.  Prior to joining the Texas A&M Foundation team, Matt served as Director of Annual Giving for The Association of Former Students from 2000-2004.

Matt received his B.S. in Journalism with a minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M (1995) and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Bush School of Government & Public Service (2009).

MS. TORII KAPAVIK

Director of Development for the Division of Student Affairs

Torii assists donors in identifying the areas and programs within the Division of Student Affairs in which their support will enhance Texas A&M University’s capability to be among the best universities in the nation.

Torii joined the Texas A&M Foundation in August 2012 and previously served as Assistant Director of Development for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She began supporting the Division of Student Affairs in August 2015.  Torii received her B.S. in Agricultural Leadership and Development from Texas A&M University in 2010.

MS. JULIE ANDERSON

Development Relations Coordinator, Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs

Julie manages donor relations for the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs Development Office.  She develops and plans all donor-related events as well as gift-tracking and processing for the division. She also serves as a Human Resources liaison and business coordinator for the departments of Music Activities and Student Life Studies, as well as co-chairing the Division of Student Affairs Staff Awards.

Julie previously held a business coordinator position in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and a business associate position at the Texas A&M University Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. She has been with the Texas A&M since 2007. Ms. Anderson received a B.S. in Animal Science from Texas A&M University in 2006.

MS. HAYLIE ZAVODNY

Administrative Coordinator I, Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs

Haylie coordinates and supports all Student Affairs development activities, including donor recognition activities, cultivation events and donor communication. She also coordinates special events and manages the day-to-day operations of the Student Affairs Business Office.

Prior to joining the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs in December 2015, Haylie was a student at Texas A&M University.  She received her B.S. in Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences with an emphasis in Community Recreation and Park Administration, a minor in Psychology and a Professional Event Management Certificate.
