Summer in Aggieland

Howdy, Ags!

We are well into the summer here in Aggieland.  New Student Orientation is in full swing.  Across the street from the VPSA residence this past weekend Fish Camp crew was in full swing, too, both in- and outside of Duncan ... getting ready!   The numbers of attendees for Fish Camp this summer appear headed off the charts!  By first day of classes in the fall we could well have the largest class of freshmen (Fish!) of any university in the nation—up to 8200 expected!   In addition to supporting our summer activities on and off campus, your Division of Student Affairs is working hard to make sure things are ready for your return in the fall.  Things will be different for sure with the closing of the MSC.  Let me assure you all that your willingness to sacrifice the use of this facility and your generosity in donating your money to renovate it have not gone unnoticed by the staff, faculty or former students of this great university.  We are committed to making the fall semester as smooth and as seamless as possible for all of you upon your return.  For those of you out and about during the summer, stop by the office (or house) if you have time for a visit!  I ask all of you to keep safe during the summer, and if you are with other Aggies, take care of each other.  We want you all back safe and sound in the fall.  The 2009-2010 school year is going to be an exciting time in Aggieland:  The class of 2013 is coming on board and getting ready to join you; the Aggie football team is gearing up in preparation for an exciting and winning season; and there will be some new, bright, committed faces within the Division of Student Affairs waiting to meet and assist you in achieving all your goals and objectives for the upcoming year.  Again, stay safe and enjoy the summer!  We all continue to be most proud of you.
